O
- OSFP
- Octal Small Form-factor Pluggable. A hot-pluggable optical module form factor defined by the OSFP MSA. Source: OSFP MSA module specification, Rev 5.22.
- OSFP224
- The name the manufacturer's datasheets use for OSFP modules with 200G-class lanes: 8 lanes on our 1.6T modules and 4 lanes on the 800G DR4. Source: 1.6T OSFP224 2xDR4 optical transceiver technical data (OSFP-1.6T-2xDR4), manufacturer datasheet, Rev 1.0, 2026-03-12.
P
- PAM4
- Four-level pulse amplitude modulation, the signaling listed for the lanes of our 1.6T and 800G modules, for example 8 x 200G PAM4 on the 1.6T 2xDR4. Source: 1.6T OSFP224 2xDR4 optical transceiver technical data (OSFP-1.6T-2xDR4), manufacturer datasheet, Rev 1.0, 2026-03-12.
- Pluggable optics
- Optical transceivers in standard form factors such as OSFP, QSFP112 and QSFP-DD that insert into and remove from a port on a switch or server. Source: OSFP MSA module specification, Rev 5.22.
- Pre-FEC BER
- Bit error ratio measured before forward error correction is applied. The 1.6T 2xDR4 datasheet gives a pre-FEC BER of 1×10⁻⁶ and a post-FEC ratio of 1×10⁻¹² with host FEC. Source: 1.6T OSFP224 2xDR4 optical transceiver technical data (OSFP-1.6T-2xDR4), manufacturer datasheet, Rev 1.0, 2026-03-12.
Q
- QSFP-DD
